The human heart is created by God to beat eighty to hundred beats per minute, when resting. The heart of a mother with all of our complex emotions, seem to hold within ourselves a continuous flow of energy within our heart of hearts.
An energy reserved for " Mother's Only". As the human heart beats according to the physiology so our emotional heart beats for our children. A phenomenon many men will admit to not understand.
When we delve into the pages of the written word, between those books contain the stories of women that held a mother's heart. We learn the comittment they made to be the mother's they were, the one's we inspire to be.
The first mother that comes to mind is one that we usually would like to forget, Eve. Eve was a woman with like passions as we. She was the victim of deception, as we all know.
Lucifer came to her unexpected. After the fall God approached the three, When He spoke to Eve, the creator of the universe could have taken her ability to conceive, he chose in stead to bless her with children.
Upon saying that giving her children tells us that conception is very important to God, he easily could have destroyed them both, he did not.
When Cain killed Abel I know speaking as a mother Eve grieved for her son. Not only had she lost Abel in a day she lost Cain as well. She lost two son's in a day and she probably never saw Cain anymore.
Hannah was a woman who desperately wanted children, scripture tells us she went to the temple and wept sore. She prayed earnestly, so much so that Eli thought she was drunk. The bible keeps from us how long Hannah waited until God opened her womb. We only know that Elkanah her husband went year by year to the house of the Lord.
At the appointed day God did open Hannah's womb, in his mercy he remembered her. Samuel was born and Hannah kept her vow. She presented him to Eli, to remain there his entire life.
God blessed her with three sons and two daughters. Hannah's name means graciousness, yes she fulfilled her name's meaning. She graciously lent her son to the Lord.
Sarah, was another woman who waited on God but she waited many years. I think, How many times did Abraham ask himself, Will Sarah and I ever have a child? The time of waiting arrived, Isaac was born.
The mother of all time was Mary. In her young age God gave the news she would bring forth her first born son. The faith she beheld to except such a charge as to carry the Son of God ! Her life began in complete obedience and when the cross became a reality, she then gave in sacrifice.
We often find ourselves pondering the time table of the Almighty. God's timing is so different then our's. After all he knows the beginning from the end It is never easy to wait.
I believe we as women want our life's events to pattern after our schedule but God doesn't always work in the way we want. Yes He does give us the desires of our hearts.
I can fully testify he has given me the desires of my heart. Has all of them been given? No, but will they be before the end of time? I believe so. If they are according to his will.
As long as the earth stands still and their are mothers there will be a mothers heart. To those of you who are widows and your children lack the love and concern they once did, fret not because God has not forgotten you. He is nearer to you then you know.
I am not a widow but there are times my oldest son forgets about me. There has been Mother's Day or birthdays where he could have sent cards. Time when he could have called throughout the year.
When we as mothers are neglected God stands beside us. When the world is crumbling around the Shepard of our souls is there. Cheer up Mom's because our redemmer lives and time is counting down towards his appearing.
